SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 439

WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to recognize William Alloway on the occasion of his 102nd birthday; and

WHEREAS, This distinguished gentleman is well known for his wisdom and generosity of spirit, and he is a respected and admired resident of New Braunfels; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Alloway was born March 14, 1911, in Missouri; he moved in the 1940s to Texas, where he married his wife; the couple lived in San Antonio and raised three children, and he has been blessed with numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and

WHEREAS, He worked for a time as a carpenter before embarking on a long and successful career in shoe sales; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Alloway has witnessed many historic events during his lifetime, and he is now celebrating his 102nd year of life, an occasion for much rejoicing among his family and friends; and

WHEREAS, A beloved and esteemed member of his community, he is known for his courage, his compassion for others, and his enthusiasm for living each day to the fullest; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 83rd Legislature, hereby commend William Alloway on his many achievements and extend to him best wishes for an enjoyable 102nd birthday; and, be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for him as an expression of high regard from the Texas Senate.
