SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 440

WHEREAS, The 89th birthday of an esteemed Texan is indeed cause for celebration, and Tessye B. Maurer of Bulverde is marking that special milestone on September 27, 2013; and

WHEREAS, A native of San Antonio, Tessye Arnold was born to Mr. and Mrs. L. J. Arnold in 1924; in 1946, she married Paul Joseph Maurer, with whom she shared many happy years before his passing; today, she enjoys the love and support of three children, Roseann, Paul, and Michael; three grandchildren, Michael, Garrison, and Katy; and six great-grandchildren, Amanda, Luke, Liam, Hazel, Eliza, and D. J.; and

WHEREAS, Mrs. Maurer has long been a dedicated supporter of the Republican Party and is an active member of the Bulverde Area Republican Women, promoting pro-life and other conservative issues, working on campaigns, and canvassing at polling places; a woman of deep convictions, she traveled with her daughter to Washington, D.C., in 1973 to participate in the historic Roe v. Wade Pro-Life Rally; and

WHEREAS, Tessye Maurer may reflect with great satisfaction on her commitment to the candidates and causes in which she believes, and it is a pleasure to join her many friends and loved ones in honoring her on this memorable occasion; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 83rd Legislature, hereby congratulate Tessye B. Maurer on her 89th birthday and extend to her sincere best wishes for continued happiness; and, be it further

RESOLVED, That an official copy of this Resolution be prepared for Mrs. Maurer as an expression of high regard from the Texas Senate.
