SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 445

WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to recognize Milford Nat Jacobs on the occasion of his 100th birthday; and

WHEREAS, This distinguished gentleman is well known for his wisdom and generosity of spirit, and he is a respected and admired citizen of Laredo; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Jacobs was born March 15, 1913, in Luling; a proud 1934 graduate of Texas A&M University, he was married to his beloved wife, Ada, for 71 years, and the couple was blessed with four children, nine grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Jacobs lived and worked in San Antonio for many years before moving to Laredo in 2010; and

WHEREAS, This exemplary citizen is a longtime, faithful member of the Ancient Free and Accepted Masons and the Alzafar Shrine Temple, and he has achieved the status of 33rd degree Mason; and

WHEREAS, A devout Christian who practices his faith in his daily life, Mr. Jacobs long ago committed himself to reading his Bible every day; and

WHEREAS, A treasured member of his community, Mr. Jacobs is noted for his courage, his compassion for others, and his enthusiasm for living each day to the fullest; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 83rd Legislature, hereby commend Milford Nat Jacobs on his many outstanding achievements and extend to him best wishes for a festive and enjoyable 100th birthday celebration; and, be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for him as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
