SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 460
         WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
  recognize the Young Men's Business League of Austin on the
  occasion of its 100th anniversary; and
         WHEREAS, The Young Men's Business League was founded in
  1913 and is one of the oldest and most respected social service
  organizations in Austin; it provides its members a platform to
  cultivate lifelong personal and professional relationships
  through a variety of service opportunities; and
         WHEREAS, The league hosts such activities and programs as
  the Austin Under 40 Awards, the Schlotzsky's 5K and 10K Bun Runs,
  and its Annual Golf Classic; its Leadership Development Series
  features guest speakers and educational workshops that help its
  members grow as professionals; and
         WHEREAS, Since 1928, the league has sponsored the Austin
  Sunshine Camps in an effort to break the cycle of poverty among
  high-potential, low-income young people in Central Texas; in
  addition to its summer camps, this exceptional program offers the
  Sunrise Leadership Program, which helps reduce the high school
  dropout rate, and the Sunrise Challenge Program, which assists
  middle school students in preparing for the rigors of high
  school; and
         WHEREAS, For 100 years, the Young Men's Business League has
  made a profound difference in the lives of its members and of
  young people across the area, and it is truly deserving of
  recognition as it achieves this milestone in its history; now,
  therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 83rd
  Legislature, hereby commend the Young Men's Business League of
  Austin on its legacy of community service and extend to its
  members best wishes for a memorable 100th anniversary
  celebration; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
  the league as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
