SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 474

WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to recognize the Texas Rangers baseball club for its successful 2012 season; and

WHEREAS, The Rangers advanced to the American League playoffs for the third consecutive year on the strength of the club's outstanding everyday lineup and its impressive young pitching staff; and

WHEREAS, The Rangers drew on the strengths of established veterans while continuing to introduce youthful new stars to the team; and

WHEREAS, One of the most exciting teams in Major League Baseball, the Rangers have advanced to the World Series in two of the last three seasons, and the 2013 season promises to provide fans with further thrills; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 83rd Legislature, hereby commend the Texas Rangers baseball club on its 2012 season and extend to its players and management best wishes for continued success; and, be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for the club as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
