SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 496
         WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
  recognize the founders of the Fast Growth School Coalition and to
  welcome school district superintendents and coalition members
  from around the state as they come together to celebrate Fast
  Growth School Day at the Texas Capitol on March 27, 2013; and
 
         WHEREAS, The Fast Growth School Coalition was established
  in 1996 as a grassroots organization of school districts; its
  purpose is to seek legislative solutions to the financial and
  structural demands created by the rapidly growing populations of
  the member districts; and
 
         WHEREAS, There are approximately 100 districts that meet
  the qualifications to become a member of the organization; these
  districts account for more than 83 percent of the state's
  enrollment increase over the past five years; and
 
         WHEREAS, With the input of its member superintendents, the
  coalition is dedicated to establishing a shared agenda and
  providing a voice for that agenda; the coalition works hard to
  continue providing a quality education for all of the state's
  students, and its goals and accomplishments are indeed worthy of
  recognition and praise; now, therefore, be it
 
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 83rd
  Legislature, hereby commend the members of the Fast Growth School
  Coalition and extend best wishes for a successful and productive
  Fast Growth School Day at the State Capitol; and, be it further
 
         RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
  the coalition and its founders as an expression of high regard
  from the Texas Senate.
