SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 501
|
|
|
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to |
|
|
recognize Barbara Puckett Todd, who has been selected for |
|
|
induction into the San Antonio Women's Hall of Fame for her |
|
|
outstanding work in the field of agriculture and ranching; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The San Antonio Women's Hall of Fame honors those |
|
|
women who have contributed significantly to the San Antonio |
|
|
community and the Bexar County region through their |
|
|
accomplishments in their profession or field of service; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Involved in agriculture and ranching since |
|
|
childhood, Barbara Todd was born into a multigenerational |
|
|
ranching family; she is the owner of a small ranch, and for more |
|
|
than 30 years, she has worked tirelessly with the San Antonio |
|
|
Livestock Exposition in a variety of volunteer positions; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Barbara Todd is also an accomplished visual |
|
|
artist and educator, and her teaching career has spanned 30 |
|
|
years; she currently teaches art and art history at Judson High |
|
|
School, and she is noted for incorporating her ranching heritage |
|
|
into her work as an artist and an educator; she encourages young |
|
|
women to consider agricultural careers and has contributed |
|
|
immensely to the success of the annual scholarship competition |
|
|
sponsored by the San Antonio Livestock Exposition's Western Art |
|
|
Committee; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Barbara Todd is highly respected for her |
|
|
dedication to her work and for her outstanding accomplishments as |
|
|
an art teacher and rancher; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 83rd |
|
|
Legislature, hereby commend Barbara Puckett Todd for her |
|
|
exceptional achievements and extend congratulations to her on |
|
|
her induction into the San Antonio Women's Hall of Fame; and, be |
|
|
it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for |
|
|
her as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate. |
