SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 504
         WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
  recognize Dr. Charlotte Ann Travis, who has been selected for
  induction into the San Antonio Women's Hall of Fame for her
  outstanding work in the field of education; and
 
         WHEREAS, The San Antonio Women's Hall of Fame honors those
  women who have contributed significantly to the San Antonio
  community and the Bexar County region through their
  accomplishments in their profession or field of service; and
 
         WHEREAS, Charlotte Travis has spent 44 years as a
  professional advocate, educator, and policy maker; she has held
  leadership positions in the Texas Parent Teacher Association for
  25 years, including serving as president, and she continues to
  present workshops on association leadership and other topics; and
 
         WHEREAS, She has been actively involved with Roy Maas Youth
  Alternatives as a facilitator in the life skills classroom and
  has taught at its counseling center; she continues to serve the
  organization as a member of its governing board; and
 
         WHEREAS, Charlotte Travis is highly respected for her
  dedication to her work and for her outstanding accomplishments as
  an educator and a mentor to young people; now, therefore, be it
 
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 83rd
  Legislature, hereby commend Dr. Charlotte Ann Travis for her
  exceptional achievements and extend congratulations to her on
  her induction into the San Antonio Women's Hall of Fame; and, be
  it further
 
         RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
  her as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
