Ross Herbert Ehlinger |
|
|
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas honors and pays |
|
tribute to the life of Ross Herbert Ehlinger, who died |
|
March 3, 2013, at the age of 46; and |
|
WHEREAS, This outstanding father, mentor, and athlete was |
|
beloved by children and adults alike; an attorney by day, he |
|
spent much of his after-hours time coaching children's sports; |
|
his friends and family knew him to be a man of strength, wisdom, |
|
and unwavering optimism; and |
|
WHEREAS, Born June 29, 1966, in San Antonio, Ross Ehlinger |
|
was the beloved baby brother to whom even his older siblings |
|
would look for leadership; he attended Churchill High School, |
|
earned his bachelor of business administration from The |
|
University of Texas at Austin, and graduated from Saint Mary's |
|
University School of Law in San Antonio; in 1993, he married his |
|
college sweetheart, Jena Cissel, and together the couple raised |
|
three children; and |
|
WHEREAS, Mr. Ehlinger devoted much of his energy to |
|
encouraging young athletes; he coached youth baseball, lacrosse, |
|
and football; an outstanding high school football player |
|
himself, he shared his passion for sports as president of |
|
Westlake Pop Warner Football; and |
|
WHEREAS, Mr. Ehlinger was exceptionally well respected in |
|
the legal profession; as a trial lawyer, he argued his cases with |
|
conviction and sincerity, and he had been recently inducted into |
|
the American Board of Trial Advocates; and |
|
WHEREAS, This proud father and loving husband was known for |
|
his infectious passion for life, travel, and competing in |
|
triathlons and marathons, which took him around the world; the |
|
many happy moments he spent with his loved ones will be cherished |
|
for years to come; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, |
|
83rd Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the |
|
bereaved family of Ross Herbert Ehlinger; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for |
|
his family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the |
|
Texas Senate, and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do |
|
so in memory of Mr. Ehlinger. |
