SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 585
WHEREAS, Members of the Williamson County Republican Women
have long made significant contributions in behalf of the causes

have increased active participation in the political process and
have helped to secure a leadership role for numerous members of
  the GOP; and
WHEREAS, Since the club's founding in 1977, members have
worked diligently to support Republican candidates in local,
state, and national elections, while taking on a number of other
worthy endeavors to benefit the local community; as part of its
Caring for America Literacy Project, club members delivered
dictionaries to third graders in the Thrall Independent School
District, and they also provided materials about America's
founding documents to the district's fifth grade pupils and
teachers in celebration of Liberty Day; moreover, these dynamic
women continually support area students by collecting "Box Tops
for Education" and by awarding scholarships to deserving young
women graduating from high school in Williamson County; and
WHEREAS, This noteworthy group has garnered a number of
honors over the years, including the 2008-2009 John Goodwin Tower
Award of Excellence from the Texas Federation of Republican
Women; the Texas federation also recognized the Williamson

  Improved Newsletter Awards; and
WHEREAS, Under the direction of president Emily Pataki,
