Sandra Lutz |
| |
|
|
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas honors and pays |
|
|
tribute to the life of Arlington resident Sandra Lutz, who died |
|
|
March 10, 2013, at the age of 57; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Born May 21, 1955, in Omaha, Nebraska, she spent |
|
|
much of her life promoting health care, education, and a love of |
|
|
nature; as a young woman, she worked for Glacier National Park, |
|
|
an experience that inspired a passion for nature that endured |
|
|
throughout her life; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Mrs. Lutz was a devoted mother and wife who |
|
|
instilled in her two daughters a commitment to community |
|
|
involvement; she cofounded the Tarrant County Children's Health |
|
|
Insurance Policy Coalition and was deeply involved with the |
|
|
Muscular Dystrophy Association, among other organizations; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, This multifaceted woman was also widely respected |
|
|
as a mentor and a coach and for her support of higher education; |
|
|
she and her husband, Larry Lutz, helped establish the Sandy and |
|
|
Larry Lutz Reporting Scholarship through the University of |
|
|
Nebraska Foundation; she also loved athletics and was |
|
|
particularly fond of softball and basketball; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Mrs. Lutz lived a full and gratifying life, and |
|
|
she will long be remembered for her warmth and wisdom, for her |
|
|
generosity of spirit, and for her abiding passion for nature and |
|
|
the advancement of others; her memory will be forever cherished |
|
|
by her family and many friends; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, |
|
|
83rd Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the |
|
|
bereaved family of Sandra Lutz; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for |
|
|
her family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the |
|
|
Texas Senate, and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do |
|
|
so in memory of Sandra Lutz. |
