SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 628
         WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
  join the people of Dallas and Ellis Counties and Texans across
  the state in celebrating April 10, 2013, as Best Southwest
  Partnership Day at the Capitol; and
         WHEREAS, The Best Southwest Partnership was established by
  the chambers of commerce of Cedar Hill, DeSoto, Duncanville, and
  Lancaster to promote economic development and educational
  attainment in the area through collaborative marketing and
  legislative efforts; the communities of Ferris, Glenn Heights,
  Hutchins, Midlothian, Ovilla, Red Oak, and Wilmer have joined the
  founding cities to support these important goals; and
         WHEREAS, The partnership combines the strength of
  public-private alliances, the ability to work alongside other
  groups, and a recognition of the unique contributions of each
  individual community, and its spirit of cooperation gives its
  members a competitive advantage in attracting business
  opportunities to the region; and
         WHEREAS, The partnership's core initiatives include
  transportation, education, legislation, health care, and
  planning for progress; it is truly deserving of recognition for
  the enduring impact it has had on the region's growth and
  prosperity; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 83rd
  Legislature, hereby welcome the delegation from the Best
  Southwest Partnership to Austin and extend to them best wishes
  for a productive and memorable Best Southwest Partnership Day at
  the Capitol; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
  the organization as an expression of esteem from the Texas
  Senate.
