SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 663
|
|
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas takes pleasure in |
|
recognizing Harper Hill, who recently received the Congressional |
|
Award Bronze Medal; and |
|
WHEREAS, This outstanding student and Eagle Scout is a high |
|
school senior at the Liberal Arts and Science Academy, which is |
|
part of the Austin Independent School District; and |
|
WHEREAS, Harper was awarded the prestigious medal by |
|
United States Representative Michael McCaul of Austin; |
|
recipients of the Congressional Award must be between the ages of |
|
14 and 23 years old and must have set and achieved challenging |
|
goals; and |
|
WHEREAS, Harper completed 100 hours of voluntary public |
|
service, building a playscape for Accessible Housing Austin; he |
|
also committed 50 hours to physical fitness and 50 hours to |
|
personal development projects; for these achievements and for |
|
his dedication to community service, he was given the |
|
Congressional Award Bronze Medal; and |
|
WHEREAS, This young man exemplifies the attributes of |
|
drive, dedication, and innovation that are so essential to the |
|
future leaders of Texas and our nation; it is indeed fitting that |
|
he be recognized and honored for his remarkable achievements; |
|
now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, |
|
83rd Legislature, hereby commend Harper Hill, who recently won |
|
the Congressional Award Bronze Medal, and extend to him sincere |
|
best wishes in all his future endeavors; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for |
|
Harper Hill as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate. |
