SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 677
 
 
  In Memory
  of
  Tamara Farris Gordon
 
         WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas honors and
  commemorates the life of Tamara Farris "Tammy" Gordon, who died
  March 25, 2013, at the age of 48; and
         WHEREAS, Tamara Lynn Farris was born November 15, 1964; she
  attended Fort Worth Country Day School before graduating from
  Arlington Heights High School; she went on to earn a bachelor's
  degree from Texas Christian University and a law degree from
  Saint Mary's University; and
         WHEREAS, She began her law career at the Cantey Hanger Law
  Offices; in 1992, she joined her father in the practice of law at the
  firm of Farris and Gordon, where she worked for over 20 years; and
         WHEREAS, Active in community affairs, she was a volunteer
  at the Fort Worth Stock Show for more than 25 years and served on
  the board of Casa Mañana Theatre; she was also a member of the
  American Lung Association of Texas, the American Heart
  Association, and the National Multiple Sclerosis Society; and
         WHEREAS, A woman of courage, strength, and compassion, she
  gave unselfishly to others, and her generous spirit and
  enthusiasm for living each day to the fullest will not be
  forgotten; and
         WHEREAS, She was a devoted mother, daughter, and sister,
  and she leaves behind memories that will be treasured forever by
  her family and countless friends; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
  83rd Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the
  bereaved family of Tamara Farris Gordon; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
  her family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the
  Texas Senate, and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do
  so in memory of Tamara Farris Gordon.
