SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 680
|
|
|
WHEREAS, When they married many years ago, Leon and Ginger |
|
|
Matula placed great faith and trust in one another, and they have |
|
|
been amply rewarded, as they are celebrating their 25th wedding |
|
|
anniversary; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Leon Thomas Matula, Jr., and Virginia Lee |
|
|
"Ginger" Rains married at Champion Forest Baptist Church in |
|
|
Houston on March 26, 1988; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The world has changed considerably during the |
|
|
years of their marriage, yet Mr. and Mrs. Matula have continued |
|
|
to cherish traditional family values; over the years, they have |
|
|
grown stronger in their love and devotion as together they have |
|
|
experienced the joys and sorrows of everyday living; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Matula have been blessed with a |
|
|
wonderful family; their children, Trey, Kevin, and Bridgette, |
|
|
have been a source of much pride and joy, and all of them were |
|
|
honors graduates of Karnes City High School; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Together, the couple created Matula's Helping |
|
|
Hands Paint Store and the TKB Bakery; Mr. Matula operated the |
|
|
businesses, and Mrs. Matula, who is a licensed physical |
|
|
therapist, served as department manager for the Rehabilitation |
|
|
Department at Otto Kaiser Memorial Hospital for many years; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Matula both participate in numerous |
|
|
local organizations, including Little League baseball, Upward |
|
|
Basketball, and the Karnes City Chamber of Commerce; they and |
|
|
their children are active at Saint Cornelius Catholic Church and |
|
|
at First Baptist Church of Kenedy; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The long and happy union of Leon and Ginger Matula |
|
|
is truly an inspiration to us all; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 83rd |
|
|
Legislature, hereby extend sincere congratulations to Mr. and |
|
|
Mrs. Matula on their 25th wedding anniversary; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for |
|
|
this distinguished couple as a memento of this milestone in their |
|
|
lives. |
