SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 740
 
 
  In Memory
  of
  Mary Frances Edge
 
         WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas honors and
  commemorates the life of Mary Frances Edge, who died March 17,
  2013, at the age of 67; and
         WHEREAS, Fran Edge was born August 11, 1945; she was
  married to her husband, Rodney, for many years, and the couple
  raised a son, Dion, who was a source of much pride and joy and who
  blessed them with three grandchildren; and
         WHEREAS, She served the nation with distinction in the
  United States Army as a surgical nurse in the Vietnam War and as a
  commander in the Navy Nurse Corps; and
         WHEREAS, After the war, she continued her career in health
  care as a registered nurse at Arlington Memorial Hospital and as
  a school nurse at Meacham Middle School and at Diamond
  Hill-Jarvis High School; and
         WHEREAS, She was a devout Catholic who practiced her faith
  in her daily life, and she made pilgrimages to Rome and to the
  Holy Land; and
         WHEREAS, A woman of courage, strength, and compassion, she
  gave unselfishly to others, and her wisdom, warmth, and valued
  counsel will not be forgotten by those who were privileged to
  share in her life; and
         WHEREAS, She was a devoted wife, sister, mother, and
  grandmother, and she leaves behind memories that will be treasured
  forever by her family and many friends; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 83rd
  Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the bereaved
  family of Mary Frances Edge; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
  her family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the Texas
  Senate, and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so in
  memory of Mary Frances Edge.
