SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 792
|
|
|
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to |
|
|
recognize Keith Perry of Austin, who is retiring as chief |
|
|
executive officer of Sears Methodist Retirement System after 35 |
|
|
years of outstanding service in the field of long-term health |
|
|
care; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Mr. Perry entered the profession of aging |
|
|
services and long-term health care in 1976; he is a graduate of |
|
|
Baylor University, and he holds a master's degree from the |
|
|
Institute of Urban Affairs at The University of Texas at |
|
|
Arlington; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Over the course of his career, Mr. Perry has |
|
|
served on a variety of public and private boards; the many |
|
|
organizations with which he has served include the Texas |
|
|
Association of Homes and Services for the Aging and the Caring |
|
|
Communities Insurance Company; he has also served as state |
|
|
director of the older worker program for the area agencies on |
|
|
aging network; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, He has proudly maintained his ties to his roots in |
|
|
Abilene, where he served on the boards of the Abilene Chamber of |
|
|
Commerce and the Abilene Philharmonic Foundation, and he was a |
|
|
member of the executive committee of the Abilene Industrial |
|
|
Foundation; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, A skillful and dedicated administrator, Mr. Perry |
|
|
has had a profound impact on the lives of countless people; he is |
|
|
respected and admired by his colleagues, and his presence at the |
|
|
Sears Methodist Retirement System will be greatly missed; now, |
|
|
therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 83rd |
|
|
Legislature, hereby commend Keith Perry on his many achievements |
|
|
and his contributions to the Sears Methodist Retirement System |
|
|
and the long-term care profession and extend to him best wishes |
|
|
for continued success in all his endeavors; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for |
|
|
him as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate. |
