SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 806
 
 
  In Memory
  of
  Robert D. Tome
 
         WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas joins the
  citizens of San Antonio in mourning the loss of Robert D. Tome,
  who died April 10, 2013, at the age of 72; and
         WHEREAS, Robert Tome was born November 10, 1940, in
  Lancaster, Pennsylvania; he served the nation with distinction
  for 20 years as a member of the United States Navy; he served
  aboard the USS Helena, the USS Oklahoma City, and the USS Grand
  Canyon and taught at the nuclear weapons school; at the time of
  his 1976 retirement, he had risen to the rank of senior chief
  petty officer; and
         WHEREAS, Bob Tome was married for 53 years to his wife,
  Marty Tome; the couple raised three children, Jeff, Cindy, and
  Deborah, and were blessed with two grandchildren; and
         WHEREAS, After his military service, Bob began a career in
  the field of environmental health and safety; he was active in a
  number of community affairs and was a member of the Bexar
  Regional Watershed Management Committee of Seven, the Alamo Area
  Council of Governments, and the Basura Bash Committee; and
         WHEREAS, He was known for his talent as a woodworker and
  created numerous pieces of furniture and handcrafted toys for his
  friends and family; he was also an avid outdoorsman who took
  great pleasure in fishing and camping; and
         WHEREAS, A man of courage, strength, and patriotism, he
  gave unselfishly to others, and his wisdom, warmth, and valued
  counsel will not be forgotten; and
         WHEREAS, Bob Tome was a devoted husband, father, and
  grandfather, and he leaves behind memories that will be cherished
  forever by his family and many friends; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 83rd
  Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the bereaved
  family of Robert D. Tome; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
  his family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the Texas
  Senate, and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so in
  memory of Bob Tome.
