SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 809
|
|
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to |
|
recognize Wallace Lee Reynolds, Sr., on the occasion of his 75th |
|
birthday; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Wallace Reynolds was born May 11, 1938, in |
|
Georgia, the eldest of 12 brothers and sisters; he grew up in |
|
Bridgeton, New Jersey, and attended Bridgeton High School, where |
|
he was a standout football player and track athlete; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, After high school, he enlisted in the United |
|
States Air Force and served the country with distinction for 23 |
|
years at various postings around the nation and the world; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Mr. Reynolds went on to enjoy a fulfilling career |
|
of nearly two decades as executive director of support operations |
|
for a law firm based in Washington, D.C.; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, He has been married to his high school sweetheart |
|
for more than 55 years; they raised four children and have been |
|
blessed with seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; |
|
he is active in his church and is still a formidable competitor on |
|
the racquetball court; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, A beloved and respected member of his community, he |
|
is noted for his courage, his compassion for others, and his |
|
enthusiasm for living each day to the fullest; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, |
|
83rd Legislature, hereby commend Wallace Lee Reynolds, Sr., on |
|
his many achievements and extend to him best wishes for a |
|
memorable 75th birthday celebration; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for |
|
him as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate. |
