SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 826
 
 
  In Memory
  of
  Nell Schotz
 
         WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas joins the
  citizens of Austin in mourning the loss of Nell Schotz, who died
  March 13, 2012, at the age of 77; and
         WHEREAS, Nell Schotz was born May 24, 1934, in Austin; she
  was a graduate of Austin High School, where she was a member of
  the band; she went on to earn a master's degree in education from
  The University of Texas at Austin; and
         WHEREAS, After her graduation, she embarked on a long and
  fulfilling career in education; she taught first grade at Palm
  Elementary School for 18 years and then became a school
  counselor; she was a dedicated and resourceful educator who
  instilled in her students a sense of pride and a lifelong love of
  learning; and
         WHEREAS, After her retirement from teaching, she had a
  longtime dream fulfilled when she and her husband, Dick, opened
  the Party Pig, a gift and party supply store in North Austin; she
  retired after 12 years of operating the store; and
         WHEREAS, A woman of warmth, kindness, and generosity, she
  gave unselfishly to others, and her wisdom and enthusiasm for
  living each day to the fullest will not be forgotten; and
         WHEREAS, Nell Schotz was a devout Christian and was devoted
  to her family, and she leaves behind memories that will be treasured
  forever by her family and many friends; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
  83rd Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the
  bereaved family of Nell Schotz; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
  her family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the Texas
  Senate, and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so in
  memory of Nell Schotz.
