SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 828
         WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas takes pleasure in
  recognizing Ananias Bustos Perez, who is celebrating his 100th
  birthday on May 19, 2013; and
 
         WHEREAS, This exemplary Texan has long been a man of faith
  and an advocate of family traditions; he has proudly passed down
  those values to his children, and today, the members of his
  family are exceedingly grateful to celebrate this milestone in
  the life of their beloved patriarch; and
 
         WHEREAS, A. B. Perez was born in Buda, Texas, on May 19,
  1913, to Gavino and Felipa Bustos Perez; the family moved to
  Austin after his father passed away, and when A. B. was 12 years
  old, he began attending weekly worship services at the Emmanuel
  Methodist Church; and
 
         WHEREAS, A. B. Perez and his late wife, Susie Mendez Perez,
  raised their five daughters in Austin, and all five of them were
  educated in the city's schools, colleges, and universities; as
  they grew up, Mr. Perez worked in the restaurant business in
  downtown Austin and helped to open several cafeterias during the
  early 1930s; and
 
         WHEREAS, A. B. Perez is noted for his devotion to his family,
  and faith has always been an abiding force in his life; he is still a
  weekly worshipper at his home church, and his extraordinary faith
  and integrity have defined him over the years; his commitment to his
  faith and his work ethic have long inspired his loving family; now,
  therefore, be it
 
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 83rd
  Legislature, hereby pay tribute to Ananias Bustos Perez on the
  joyous occasion of his 100th birthday; and, be it further
 
         RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
  A. B. Perez in honor of this milestone in his life.
