SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 878
         WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
  recognize Dr. Gary W. Raba, who is completing his term as a member
  of the Texas Board of Professional Engineers; and
         WHEREAS, Dr. Raba is vice chairman of Raba-Kistner
  Consultants, Incorporated, a consulting engineering firm with
  office locations in Texas and Mexico; he earned bachelor's,
  master's, and doctoral degrees in engineering from Texas A&M
  University; and
         WHEREAS, Throughout his career, he has been noted for his
  superior skill and professional expertise; he has served on
  the board of the Texas Council of Engineering Companies and has
  held several positions within the American Society of Civil
  Engineers and the Texas Society of Professional Engineers; he
  was selected as Travis County and Texas' Young Engineer of the
  Year in 1991; and
         WHEREAS, In addition to his leadership in his profession,
  Dr. Raba is active in his San Antonio community through his
  service with a variety of civic and philanthropic
  organizations; and
         WHEREAS, He is highly regarded and admired by his
  colleagues in the field of engineering, and his presence on the
  Texas Board of Professional Engineers will be greatly missed;
  now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 83rd
  Legislature, hereby commend Dr. Gary W. Raba on his outstanding
  service to the Texas Board of Professional Engineers and extend
  to him best wishes for continued success in all his endeavors;
  and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
  him as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
