SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 894
|
|
|
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to |
|
|
recognize Wayne Riddle, who is retiring from his position as |
|
|
mayor of Deer Park after more than three decades of outstanding |
|
|
service to the community; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Mayor Riddle began his career in public service as |
|
|
a member of the Deer Park City Council in 1981; he served with |
|
|
distinction as a council member until 1999, when he was elected |
|
|
mayor; during his tenure as mayor, the city has continued to grow |
|
|
and prosper while remaining a wonderful place in which to live, |
|
|
work, and raise a family; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Throughout his outstanding career in public |
|
|
service, he has handled his many responsibilities with |
|
|
exceptional effectiveness and dedication; he has served as an |
|
|
officer with numerous professional organizations; he is a |
|
|
former president of the Texas Municipal League Region 14 and of |
|
|
the Texas Association of Mayors, Councilmembers and |
|
|
Commissioners; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, A leading Deer Park citizen, he is the owner of |
|
|
the Wayne Riddle Insurance Agency and Deer Park Insurance Agency, |
|
|
Incorporated; he has served as president of the Deer Park Chamber |
|
|
of Commerce, the Deer Park Rotary Club, and the Pasadena |
|
|
Deepwater Optimist Club; he received Deer Park's Outstanding |
|
|
Citizen Award in 1991; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, An exemplary public servant, he is respected and |
|
|
admired by his colleagues and fellow citizens alike, and his |
|
|
presence as mayor of Deer Park will be greatly missed; now, |
|
|
therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 83rd |
|
|
Legislature, hereby commend Wayne Riddle on his exemplary |
|
|
service as mayor of Deer Park and extend to him best wishes for |
|
|
continued success in all his endeavors; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for |
|
|
him as an expression of high regard from the Texas Senate. |
