SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 900

Thomas Paige Murach |
| |
|
|
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas pays tribute to |
|
|
the life of United States Army Specialist Thomas Paige Murach, |
|
|
who died on May 4, 2013, at the age of 22; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Specialist Murach died in the line of duty while |
|
|
serving his country in southern Afghanistan; he had been deployed |
|
|
from Fort Bliss as a member of the 1st Battalion, 36th Infantry |
|
|
Regiment, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 1st Armored Division; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Thomas Murach was born on May 16, 1990, at |
|
|
Mountain Home Air Force Base in Idaho; he joined the army in |
|
|
August of 2010 and attended the Infantry Training Course at Fort |
|
|
Benning; his first duty assignment was at Fort Bliss, and he was |
|
|
selected to serve as a reconnaissance platoon sniper; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, He was a true American hero, and his fellow |
|
|
servicemen admired him for his valor in the face of danger; his |
|
|
military honors include the Purple Heart and the Bronze Star; |
|
|
this dedicated young man will be dearly missed by his parents and |
|
|
his three brothers; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Specialist Murach served his country with |
|
|
distinction; he will long be remembered for his loyalty and |
|
|
courage, and he leaves behind memories that will be cherished by |
|
|
his family and many friends; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 83rd |
|
|
Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the bereaved |
|
|
family of United States Army Specialist Thomas Paige Murach; and, |
|
|
be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for |
|
|
his family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the Texas |
|
|
Senate, and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so in |
|
|
memory of Specialist Thomas Murach. |
