SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 902
 
 
  In Memory
  of
  Brandon Joseph Prescott
 
         WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas honors and
  commemorates the life of Specialist Brandon Joseph Prescott, who
  died in the line of duty on May 4, 2013, at the age of 24; and
         WHEREAS, This courageous young man served honorably in the
  United States Army; he had been deployed to Afghanistan from Fort
  Bliss and was a member of the 1st Battalion, 36th Infantry
  Regiment, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 1st Armored Division; his
  military honors include the Bronze Star, the Purple Heart, and
  the Army Commendation Award with Valor; and
         WHEREAS, Specialist Prescott enlisted in the armed forces
  in April of 2010; he attended the Infantry Training Course at
  Fort Benning and was later assigned to Fort Bliss; he was
  selected to serve as an assistant team leader in his
  reconnaissance platoon; and
         WHEREAS, Born on July 18, 1988, in West Covina, California,
  this exemplary soldier and American hero was greatly admired by
  his fellow servicemen for his loyalty and integrity, and he will
  be profoundly missed by his three brothers and his parents, who
  will forever cherish his memory; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 83rd
  Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the bereaved
  family of United States Army Specialist Brandon Joseph Prescott;
  and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
  his family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the Texas
  Senate, and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so in
  memory of Specialist Brandon Prescott.
