SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 902

Brandon Joseph Prescott |
| |
|
|
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas honors and |
|
|
commemorates the life of Specialist Brandon Joseph Prescott, who |
|
|
died in the line of duty on May 4, 2013, at the age of 24; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, This courageous young man served honorably in the |
|
|
United States Army; he had been deployed to Afghanistan from Fort |
|
|
Bliss and was a member of the 1st Battalion, 36th Infantry |
|
|
Regiment, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 1st Armored Division; his |
|
|
military honors include the Bronze Star, the Purple Heart, and |
|
|
the Army Commendation Award with Valor; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Specialist Prescott enlisted in the armed forces |
|
|
in April of 2010; he attended the Infantry Training Course at |
|
|
Fort Benning and was later assigned to Fort Bliss; he was |
|
|
selected to serve as an assistant team leader in his |
|
|
reconnaissance platoon; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Born on July 18, 1988, in West Covina, California, |
|
|
this exemplary soldier and American hero was greatly admired by |
|
|
his fellow servicemen for his loyalty and integrity, and he will |
|
|
be profoundly missed by his three brothers and his parents, who |
|
|
will forever cherish his memory; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 83rd |
|
|
Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the bereaved |
|
|
family of United States Army Specialist Brandon Joseph Prescott; |
|
|
and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for |
|
|
his family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the Texas |
|
|
Senate, and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so in |
|
|
memory of Specialist Brandon Prescott. |
