SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 975
         WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
  recognize Grant Manier for his outstanding achievements as an
  artist; and
 
         WHEREAS, Grant is a young student who has been diagnosed
  with autism; he has taken what some deem to be a disability and
  made it a strength by applying his unique skills and talents to
  the creation of artwork; and
 
         WHEREAS, Grant has created an artistic style that he calls
  Eco-Art; he takes small scraps of paper from such various sources
  as Christmas wrapping paper, candy wrappers, movie posters,
  magazines, and even puzzle pieces and uses them to produce
  original, finished pieces of art; and
 
         WHEREAS, He has developed a sizable following for his art;
  he produces one-man shows and uses the proceeds from his work to
  help pay for the educational resources that help him thrive; and
 
         WHEREAS, Grant has inspired countless people with his
  strength of spirit and his dedication to his craft, and he is
  truly deserving of recognition as he embarks on his career in
  art; now, therefore, be it
 
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 83rd
  Legislature, hereby commend Grant Manier on his exemplary
  determination, his positive outlook, and his creative endeavors
  and extend to him best wishes for continued success in the
  future; and, be it further
 
         RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
  him as an expression of high regard from the Texas Senate.
