SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 984
         WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
  recognize Esther Rodriguez, who retired December 31, 2012, from
  Firstmark Credit Union; and
         WHEREAS, With her retirement, Esther reached an
  unsurpassed milestone at the credit union, with more than 43
  years of loyal service and unfailing professionalism; Esther has
  spent her entire career at the agency, and she is greatly admired
  by her colleagues; and
         WHEREAS, Esther began her career at Firstmark as a
  part-time employee when she was still in high school; after she
  graduated in 1969, she was hired full-time on June 1, 1969; and
         WHEREAS, With every role she has filled over the years,
  Esther has exhibited excellent interpersonal skills and
  attention to detail; from teller to loan officer to her work in
  payroll, member services, and collections, to her 22 years as a
  branch manager, she has shown her adaptability and intelligence
  and the credit union has benefited from her experience; and
         WHEREAS, Esther concluded her service as assistant vice
  president of Corporate Relations, drawing on her abilities to
  build business and civic relationships; and
         WHEREAS, This inspiring woman also devoted much time to
  organizations such as the Lighthouse for the Blind, San Antonio
  Youth, and the Alamo Chapter of Credit Unions; she was chair for
  the South Area Business Council and a Great 8 Ambassador for the
  San Antonio Greater Chamber of Commerce; and
         WHEREAS, A talented and resourceful individual, Esther
  left an enduring mark on the credit union and the broader
  community, and she will be greatly missed at her workplace for
  her warmth, her reliability, and her expertise; now, therefore,
  be it
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 83rd
  Legislature, hereby commend Esther Rodriguez on her long and
  successful career at Firstmark Credit Union and extend to her
  sincere best wishes for the retirement years ahead; and, be it
  further
         RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
  her as an expression of high regard from the Texas Senate.
