SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 1018
         WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
  recognize the students, faculty, and administration of Northwest
  Preparatory Academy Charter School on the occasion of the
  school's 12th annual eighth grade promotion ceremony; and
         WHEREAS, The school will host its ceremony on May 29, 2013,
  and in so doing, it will also be celebrating the history of this
  outstanding academy, which was founded in 2001; and
         WHEREAS, Northwest Preparatory Academy Charter School is
  an open enrollment public school with more than 300 students and
  a 97 percent attendance rate; and
         WHEREAS, From the outset, this school has fostered a
  student-centered learning environment that promotes high
  expectations of academic and non-academic achievement by its
  pupils, and offers a comprehensive curriculum and numerous
  social, skills, and career development programs for its youth;
  and
         WHEREAS, Providing a respectful environment for students,
  teachers, parents, and the larger community, this noteworthy
  school has attained the Exemplary rating, the highest rating from
  the Texas Education Agency Academic Accountability ratings
  system; this is an outstanding achievement for which the entire
  community deserves recognition; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 83rd
  Legislature, hereby commend Northwest Preparatory Academy
  Charter School on the occasion of its 12th annual eighth grade
  promotion ceremony; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
  the school as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
