SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 1027
 
 
  In Memory
  of
  Thomas J. Singley
 
         WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas honors and
  commemorates the life of Thomas J. "Jiggs" Singley, who died
  April 8, 2013, at the age of 94; and
         WHEREAS, Born on February 3, 1919, in Pauls Valley,
  Oklahoma, Thomas Singley lived a long and active life filled with
  beloved family and dear friends; and
         WHEREAS, He worked for Baker Oil Tools for 38 years, and
  over the course of his career, he held several key positions,
  including that of manager of the Eastern Division in Illinois;
  and
         WHEREAS, Mr. Singley also assumed management of one of the
  company's acquired businesses, and he built up the business and
  managed contracts around the world before he retired in Oklahoma
  City in 1986; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. Singley was dedicated to his children, his
  grandchildren, and his great-grandchildren and to his wife,
  Kathryn Avis Singley, who preceded him in death in 1989; and
         WHEREAS, In 1996, Mr. Singley moved to Houston, where his
  son and daughter-in-law resided, and he spent many happy years
  with his family and among his neighbors on North Boulevard; and
         WHEREAS, An exemplary gentleman, Thomas Singley was
  admired for his numerous accomplishments and was beloved by many,
  and he will be remembered with great affection and appreciation
  by all who had the privilege of sharing in his life; now,
  therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 83rd
  Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the bereaved
  family of Thomas J. "Jiggs" Singley; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
  his family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the Texas
  Senate, and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so in
  memory of Thomas Singley.
