SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 1034
         WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
  recognize Sergeant Trey Tomlin for his exemplary service to his
  country as a member of the United States Army; and
 
         WHEREAS, Trey Tomlin served the nation with distinction as
  a sergeant with the famed 101st Airborne Division; he served two
  15-month deployments, one in Iraq and another in Afghanistan; and
 
         WHEREAS, On November 13, 2010, he was severely injured in
  the line of duty when an improvised explosive device detonated in
  his path; despite his wounds, he directed his squad members to
  spread out, and he was able to lead his squad through dangerous
  territory to safety; and
 
         WHEREAS, Today, Trey is a resident of The Woodlands and is
  serving his community in a variety of ways; he has inspired many
  people with the speeches he has given that tell the story of his
  tours and of his service alongside his comrades on behalf of the
  country's safety and security; and
 
         WHEREAS, A true American hero, Trey has joined those men
  and women whose courageous actions have set a lasting standard
  for others to follow and whose selfless patriotism and
  intrepidness are deserving of special recognition; now,
  therefore, be it
 
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 83rd
  Legislature, hereby commend Sergeant Trey Tomlin on his bravery
  and his exemplary service to the nation as a member of the 101st
  Airborne Division and extend to him best wishes for continued
  success in all his endeavors; and, be it further
 
         RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
  him as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
