SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 1041
         WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
  recognize Bill Shaffer, who is retiring from his service to the
  state as an assistant Senate doorkeeper; and
 
         WHEREAS, Mr. Shaffer has loyally served the Texas Senate
  through three legislative sessions; he is a veteran of the United
  States Coast Guard, and as a Senate employee, he has carried out
  his many duties with dedication, graciousness, and an enduring
  respect for Senate traditions; and
 
         WHEREAS, He is an avid sports fan who enjoys watching stock
  car racing, baseball, football, basketball, and golf; and
 
         WHEREAS, A valued Senate employee who is noted for his
  kindness and courtesy, he is respected and well liked by his
  colleagues and by the senators he has served, and his presence at
  the door of the Senate Chamber will be greatly missed; now,
  therefore, be it
 
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
  83rd Legislature, hereby commend Bill Shaffer on his exemplary
  service to the Texas Legislature as an assistant Senate
  doorkeeper and extend to him best wishes for continued success in
  all his endeavors; and, be it further
 
         RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
  him as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
