IN RE:

No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill amends the Education Code relating to the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board's student success-based funding recommendations for general academic institutions, other than a public state college.  Under provisions of the bill, the Coordinating Board must include not more than 25 percent of the total amount of general revenue appropriations of base funds for undergraduate education recommended by the Board to the Legislature to be based on student success measures. Currently, the Higher Education Coordinating Board must include not more than 10 percent of the total amount of general revenue appropriations of base funds for undergraduate education recommended by the Board to be based on student success measures.

If the proposal as outlined in the bill were implemented by the legislature, the distribution of formula funding among general academic institutions could be impacted.
