FROM:
Ursula Parks, Director, Legislative Budget Board
IN RE:
HB39 by Menéndez (Relating to extending a local behavioral health intervention pilot project.), As Introduced
No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would amend Sections 1(f) and (j), Chapter 356, Acts of the 81st Legislature, as it relates to extending a local behavioral health intervention pilot project. BexarCares established a local behavioral health intervention project for children in Bexar County and was funded in part by the Department of State Health Services (DSHS). Under the provisions of the bill, the BexarCares pilot project in Bexar County would be continued until September 1, 2023. Based on the analysis provided by DSHS, it is assumed that the provisions of the bill can be implemented within existing resources. The bill would take effect immediately if a two-thirds majority vote in both houses of the Legislature is received. Otherwise, the bill would take effect on September 1, 2013.
Local Government Impact
No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
