No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would amend the Occupations Code related to the regulation of certain private security companies and occupations. The bill would increase the number of board members of the Texas Private Security Board from seven to nine including one additional public member and a licensed locksmith. It is assumed that implementing the provisions of the bill can be absorbed within the existing resources of the agency. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this Act takes effect September 1, 2013.
