IN RE:
HB240 by Guillen (Relating to a license suspension after moving violations for a holder of a provisional driver 's license.), Committee Report 1st House, Substituted
No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would amend the Transportation Code to extend the suspension of a provisional driver's license in certain circumstances from 90 days to 180 days. The bill would allow a probationer driver under extended suspension to drive while accompanied by certain individuals. The bill would also require the Department of Public Safety, if possible, to notify a parent or guardian of a person whose license is suspended under the provisions of the bill. It is assumed the costs associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be absorbed within current appropriations. The bill would take effect September 1, 2013
Local Government Impact
No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
