LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD
Austin, Texas

FISCAL NOTE, 83RD LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION

February 17, 2013

TO:
Honorable Jimmie Don Aycock, Chair, House Committee on Public Education

FROM:
Ursula Parks, Director, Legislative Budget Board

IN RE:
HB251 by Guillen (Relating to considering the performance of certain students on state assessment instruments in evaluating school district and campus performance.), As Introduced

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would exempt a student from being included in the evaluation of a school district or campus's performance on student achievement indicators if the student's performance would lower a performance rating and the student has been enrolled in a school in the United States for three years or less and is a student of limited English proficiency.

This analysis assumes that any additional costs could be absorbed within existing resources.

Local Government Impact

No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
