No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would require a school district or an open-enrollment charter school participating in the National School Breakfast Program in which 80 percent or more of the students qualify for a free or reduced-price breakfast to provide a free breakfast to each student during school hours.

This analysis assumes that any additional costs could be absorbed within existing resources.

Local Government Impact

A school district or an open-enrollment charter school in which 80 percent or more of the students qualify for a free or reduced-price breakfast would be required to provide a free breakfast to each student. The costs to implement the provisions of the bill would vary.
