Honorable Geanie Morrison, Chair, House Committee On Elections
FROM:
Ursula Parks, Director, Legislative Budget Board
IN RE:
HB331 by Guillen (Relating to registration powers of volunteer deputy registrars.), As Introduced
No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would amend the Election Code to authorize volunteer deputy registrars to distribute voter registration application forms throughout the state. The bill would also require the Secretary of State to prescribe procedures for implementing the provisions.
SOS anticipates any additional work resulting from the passage of the bill could be reasonably absorbed within current resources.
Local Government Impact
There could be a fiscal impact to local governments; however, those costs would vary by locality and are not anticipated to be significant.
