No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Family Code relating to spousal maintenance agreements. The bill places limits on the length of time a court can enforce spousal maintenance agreements. The bill is not anticipated to increase the number of cases handled by family law judges nor the time spent by judges on spousal maintenance issues.

The bill would take effect September 1, 2013.

No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
