No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Family Code relating to the enforcement of a property distribution agreement incident to divorce or annulment. The bill allows a court to enforce contractual provisions concerning property distribution that were approved under the terms of an agreement. The bill is not anticipated to increase the number of cases handled by family law judges nor the time spent by judges on spousal maintenance issues.

The bill would take effect September 1, 2013.
