LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD
Austin, Texas

FISCAL NOTE, 83RD LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION

February 24, 2013

TO:
Honorable Jimmie Don Aycock, Chair, House Committee On Public Education

FROM:
Ursula Parks, Director, Legislative Budget Board

IN RE:
HB422 by Davis, John (Relating to career and technology education or fine arts credits required for high school graduation.), As Introduced

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would modify the graduation requirements under the Recommended or Advanced High School Program to allow a student to substitute one credit in career and technology education for the required fine arts credit.

This analysis assumes that any student who would take a career and technology education course to satisfy the graduation requirement under the Recommended or Advanced High School Program would have taken that career and technology course under current law.

Local Government Impact

No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
