IN RE:
HB424 by Burkett (Relating to the sex offender status of a person who becomes a resident of certain group home facilities.), As Introduced
No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would require the director of a group home to determine whether a person either requesting to live at a group home or assigned to live at a group home is registered as a sex offender under Chapter 62, Code of Criminal Procedure, using a website maintained by the Department of Public Safety, and to notify current residents of the group home if the person is found to be a sex offender.
The Department of Aging and Disability Services does not anticipate any significant fiscal impact as a result of complying with the provisions of the bill.
Local Government Impact
No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
