HB473 by Turner, Sylvester (Relating to the provision under the medical assistance program of certain medications to children younger than five years of age.), As Introduced

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would require prior authorization in the Medicaid program for provision of antipsychotic or neuroleptic medication to children under age five. The bill would be effective September 1, 2013.

According to the Health and Human Services Commission, any cost to implement the provisions of the bill would be minimal and can be absorbed within existing resources.

No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
