No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Labor Code relating to required workers' compensation insurance coverage for building and construction contracts. 

Based on information provided by the Texas Department of Insurance (TDI), it is assumed that any costs associated with the implementation of this bill would be absorbed within existing resources.

Costs to units of local government would vary depending on the number and cost of future
construction projects in a given locality.
