No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would amend the Government Code and the Transportation Code to require the Department of Public Safety to create a "veteran" designation to be placed upon request of the veteran on the veteran's Concealed Handgun License and personal identification certificate. It is assumed the provisions of the bill could be implemented within current appropriations. The bill would take effect September 1, 2013.
