No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would amend the Election Code to require certain actions to be taken by the Secretary of State, political parties, independent candidates, and write-in candidates related to placing presidential and vice-presidential candidates on a ballot.
The Secretary of State indicates the provisions of the bill could be implemented within existing resources.
This bill would take effect immediately if it receives a vote of two-thirds of each house; if not, it will take effect on September 1, 2013.
