IN RE: | HB698 by Springer (relating to certain procedures for submitting legible and classifiable fingerprints with an application for a license to carry a concealed handgun. ), Committee Report 1st House, Substituted |
The bill would amend the Government Code to require the Department of Public Safety to establish procedures for applicants who are required to submit legible and classifiable fingerprints as part of a Concealed Handgun License application and who reside more than 25 miles from a facility with the capability to process digital fingerprints. It is assumed the costs of implementing the provisions of the bill could be absorbed within existing resources. The bill would take effect September 1, 2013.
