The bill would amend the Occupations Code relating to the practice of psychology by persons employed by a governmental agency.
Based on the information provided by the Board of Psychologists, Department of Aging & Disability Services, Texas Juvenile Justice Department, and the Department of State Health Services, this analysis assumes that duties and responsibilities associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be accomplished by utilizing existing resources.
The Board of Psychologists has identified a small number of licensees exempt from paying a $200 professional fee under current law that would no longer be exempt from the fee under the provisions of the bill, however this analysis assumes that any additional revenue generated under the provisions of the bill from such a fee would not be significant.
