LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD
Austin, Texas

FISCAL NOTE, 83RD LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION

February 26, 2013

TO:
Honorable Byron Cook, Chair, House Committee On State Affairs

FROM:
Ursula Parks, Director, Legislative Budget Board

IN RE:
HB810 by Cook (Relating to distribution of state agency reports to legislators.), As Introduced

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Government Code, Section 2052 to require that all state agencies, including legislative agencies, make any agency report available to the Legislature in electronic format and to notify each legislative member of the availability of a report. A sample of agencies including the Texas Legislative Council (TLC), the Teacher Retirement System (TRS), the Employees Retirement System (ERS), the Bond Review Board (BRB), the Texas Department of Insurance (TDI) and the Texas Education Agency (TEA) indicate no significant fiscal impact to the state, and that they could absorb the costs associated with the bill within current resources.

Local Government Impact

No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
