IN RE:
HB855 by Lucio III (Relating to a security services contractor's lien.), As Introduced
No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would amend the Property Code to authorize a security service contractor to place a lien against a commercial entity for the amount owed under a security services contract. The lien would attach to the property where the contractor provided the services, if owned by the commercial entity, and to the personal property owned by the commercial entity and located on the premises.
According to the Office of the Attorney General (OAG), state property is not subject to liens of this type; therefore, no fiscal impact to the OAG is anticipated as a result of the passage of the bill.
Local Government Impact
No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
